LCD TV's are very popular they have all but replaced the older model TVs. They are usually very thin, and have great pictures. Most of the LCD TVs are of the high definition variety. LCD TVs are a bit different than traditional TVs in that they have to be mounted to the wall or they require a specific type of stand so that they can sit upright.
Mounting

When you talk about mounting, it usually refers to hanging it on the wall, much like a picture is hung. There is special equipment that is required to mount. There is specific mounting hardware that is used to mount the TV to the wall. An LCD bracket usually comes as part of a kit. The LCD bracket comes in different sizes to hold different weights. The weight usually coincides with the size of the screen. The larger the screen the greater it weights. To successfully mount, it is necessary to be sure that the LCD bracket is designed to hold the weight of the TV to be mounted. All of the kits on the market will clearly state the maximum load for that specific kit.
The kits typically come with step by step instructions and will clearly lay out the tools that are required. It is probably best to have someone around to help mount the TV, because it may be heavy and lifting it on to the bracket may require more than one person. The entire project should not take more than an hour.
LCD Stands
Wall mounting is not the only option for an LCD TV there are stands that sit on the floor that an LCD TV can be mounted to. Typically the stand is a piece of furniture much like a conventional wall unit or entertainment center. The top or upper portion of the stand will have either one LCD bracket or two. The TV slips onto the bracket and is suspended from it. There are stands that do not have any brackets at all but instead the LCD TV is supported from the bottom, these types of stands do not offer as much support as the stands that do have the LCD bracket that the TV can be secured to.
The LCD TV's are the wave of the future - it is actually hard to find a traditional TV now.

This is a solid mount, the wall plate is 17.7" wide, allowing it to be mounted into two standard studs 16" apart. This provides a stable two stud installation for displays in the 32-55" size range. This mount will fit hole patterns up to VESA 400x400 (16"x16"). It is made from 2mm steel and can handle displays weighing up to 115lbs. The profile is only 2.75" in the flat position yet offers up to 15 degrees of tilt. This mount is currently only available in black. Installation instructions and all mounting hardware are included.
